Country & Western With The Texans

Country & Western Evening

Saturday 21 April was dance night at the village hall in Halwill. A popular local duo, known as the ‘Texans’, were invited to perform at a music/dance evening in support of the Winsford Trust. The Texans, John and Brian, are well known for their range of popular music and over 80 people took to the floor.

The Trustees of the Winsford Trust decided upon a Country and Western theme and the evening was therefore US orientated with bunting and flags and a themed corn chips and dips snack supper. The evening was a huge success and the dancers seemed to have enjoyed the music and dancing, most staying to the very end at midnight.

Tickets amounting to well over a £100 were sold for the prize draw – an American style food hamper – which was won by a gentleman who coincidentally had been born at the Winsford Cottage Hospital in the 1940’s.
